Comments are a beautiful thing

  • I am always happy to hear from you. And as I say to certain pre-teens who live in this house, I cannot read your mind and know what you are thinking. Especially if I don't even know you. So introduce yourself. Tell us your favorite color and something you're good at. Think of it as a team building exercise. Trust me, you'll love it.

I would agree with you. I am in Southern California the the Fall Fair OUR premiere yearly event was held here for over 20 years! They who featured the best of the best in the sewing industry. Also free classes and free parking Wonderful give-aways, Free chances to win top notch sewing machine from one of the dealers, too. Lots of Creativity and even More New ideas, patterns, books, fabrics, trims, dicounts and a Fashion show that was Cutting edge...............It has declined as well. I noticed it was getting worse when Computer classes (yeah computer embroidery and pattern drafting..) came and many of the great inspirational people for the industry got cancer and heart trouble and were no longer healthy enough to travel alone. Sewing things got MUCH worse. Today the Fall Fair was filled with everything Except Sewing. Things like: stamps, paper crafting, holiday decorating with flowers and candles, the latest in Cooking gadgets...I think they might have a dozen booths but they were run by sewing machine salesmen who didnt know how to Make anything, just how to run their machines on cheap fabric that no one uses. I am sorry it is happening even in Minnesota. Maybe Oregon still has THE great expo/gathering of great sewing people left? what do you think? Joni in CA

the cheap chick

I guess I'm not sad I had to work on Friday. Sorry you guys didn't have the best time - would a trip to S.R. Harris make it better?
